Last updated October 21, 2026. Downtime is made by Downtime Media. In this policy, "we" means Downtime Media.
Downtime does not collect, sell or share your personal information. It has no accounts and no analytics, and it keeps no servers that receive data from the app or extension.
The Chrome extension
What it reads on claude.ai. Whether Claude is in the middle of a reply (by checking for the Stop button), and the title of the chat so it can show it in the Downtime window. It never reads the text of your conversations.
What it stores. Your settings, your playlist, where you stopped in each video, and simple counts such as how many long replies you've waited on. All of it stays in your browser's extension storage on your device.
What it connects to. The Internet Archive (archive.org), to find and stream the public domain cartoons, plus any video address you add yourself. Those requests carry nothing about you or your chats.
The Mac app
What it receives. When Claude starts a long task, Claude sends the app a one-line description and a time estimate, and any quick question it wants to ask you. That information stays on your Mac.
What it stores. Settings, playlist, playback position and counts, in a folder on your Mac.
Company mode. If your employer sets up company mode, the app records which training clips you watched and your answers to quick checks, and may send those records to an address your employer chooses. It never records anything from your Claude conversations.
The website
If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address only to tell you when Downtime is available, and we don't share it. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs.
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension or the app deletes everything it stored. To be removed from the waitlist, email us.
